After pregnancy, the thighs can act as a haven for excess fat deposits, causing a loose, flabby appearance and even resulting in friction when we walk. This can be particularly difficult to improve even with rigorous diet and exercise. A thigh lift as part of a Mommy Makeover utilizes liposuction and the removal of excess skin to recontour the thighs and give them a more athletic, healthy aesthetic. Dr. Tiffany McCormack can improve the contours of the thighs with a thigh lift here at our Reno, Nevada and Lake Tahoe, California-area practice.

Thigh Lift Procedure
During a thigh lift, Dr. McCormack typically performs liposuction to remove excess fat deposits that may be causing a saggy appearance. Then, she will remove loose extra skin and lift the remainder, tightening the skin and giving it a smoother aesthetic. Dissolvable sutures are used to close the incisions, which will be made as discreetly as possible. The entire thigh lift procedure usually takes about two hours, and can be combined with other procedures in a Mommy Makeover.
Thigh Lift Recovery
Dr. McCormack will encourage you to walk somewhat regularly in the days immediately following thigh lift surgery in order to prevent blood clots; however, strenuous activities such as climbing stairs or aerobics should be avoided. You will likely experience some swelling and a feeling of tightness in the weeks following surgery, but this should fade during recovery, and is typically gone after about six weeks. Many patients are able to return to work after a week; however, those who engage in activities that require heavy lifting and/or prolonged periods of walking or standing may not be able to resume work until after three to six weeks.
With a thigh lift as part of your Mommy Makeover, Dr. Tiffany McCormack can eliminate friction between the thighs and give them a more toned, contoured appearance. Contact us today to schedule a Mommy Makeover consultation.
